Children's Hope has supported over 30 projects in India and the United States since its founding in 1992. We support the grassroots efforts of organizations that are doing excellent and often pioneering work. Partnering with reputed non-governmental organizations in India, CH supports education, health, and vocational training programs as well as shelters for street children and micro-credit initiatives. CH also funds relief projects in response to emergencies and natural disasters.
Each program funded by CH receives a three-year grant, and all grantees provide regular progress reports and updates. CH board members closely monitor all of their projects and make regular visits during their personal trips to India to track the progress of CH projects.
In 2004, CH launched Asha Prayas, a new comprehensive initiative in a slum community in Delhi, where there is great need and little infrastructure. This program will provide services that span from a child's early years to adulthood, from day care to vocational training and income generation. Asha Prayas is a groundbreaking effort for CH as it is the first time we have adopted a community. For more information on this exciting new project please see the Asha Prayas page of the website.
