Tushar Naveen Singh quit school, left his village and headed for Delhi in search of manual labor to help his father who worked as a laborer support his large family. Naveen was earning Rs. 500/month in a factory before signing up for computer classes at Children’s Hope India’s CH Prayas project in New Delhi. After completion, CH Prayas helped him get a job at Axis Bank as a data entry operator and then as a team leader with Radiant Co. where he now earns Rs. 18,000/month and is also continuing his studies. Varsha Chaubey lives in a shelter made of scraps of wood, metal and tarp. She began studying at the Children’s Hope India- EK Asha school in Mumbai after her father lost his job. The mid-day meal served at the school was all that she ate on most days. Varsha has now passed her Grade 10 exams, and is working part-time as a client staff teacher at the school to earn extra money while she continues her studies.
