On Jan. 3, 2020, under the supervision and guidance of the MMU team, the doctors at Isha Netralaya, Kalyan successfully completed a left eye cataract operation on a three-year and eight-month old girl, Shravani from Karjat.
Shravani was diagnosed at an aanganwadi eye screening camp held by the CHI-Mobile Medical Unit many months ago in February 2019. Since the child was very young, doctors played a key role in diagnosing the problem and undertaking all tests etc. The Mobile Medical Unit Doctor and Medical social worker counseled the parents and immediate family and prepared the entire family for this operation. She is recovering well and is able to see clearly.
